The SoCal-Nevada MAA Fall meeting will be held at Scripps College this year - how convenient! There will be an array of contributed papers, and the following exciting talks are featured:
Mathematics as Art in Contemporary Drama, by Stephen Abbott;
The Weapon of Choice, by Section Teaching Award winner Bruce Yoshiwara;
The Lost Notebook of Ramanujan, by MAA Polya Lecturer and AMS President Elect George Andrews; and
Math in the Movies, by Tony DeRose of Pixar Animation Studios.
If you're a Harvey Mudd student, just register at the meeting and tell them to send the bill to Prof. B. - the math department will be covering the expense, so you get in for free!
The meeting will mostly take place around Edwards Humanities Building in Scripps. For more information, please see the link to the meeting's official website above.
